Psychologists have observed that after great tragedy, humans display superior courage and determination to take on their new, disadvantaged life. It’s only after daily life sets in, that the reality of their situation hits them. Project Boneinu by Tov V’Chesed arranges a mentor for every orphan to help them navigate the treacherous roads of their childhood. With over 90 trained and paid mentors, the orphans feel that someone has their back. Mentors communicate with the orphan’s cheder or yeshiva to ensure that they succeed; they encourage the child, prepare them for difficult situations and step in as the missing parent.
